About Rater-X
We're building the evaluation partner AI teams deserve one that prioritizes training, accountability, and judgment quality over speed and cost minimization.
WHO WE ARE
Rater-X is a training-first AI evaluation company specializing in guideline-intensive, high-judgment English evaluation for production AI systems. We work with LLM providers, search platforms, content moderation teams, and enterprise AI groups to deliver the kind of nuanced, policy-aware evaluation that automated metrics can't capture.
Unlike crowd platforms or generic labeling services, we invest deeply in evaluator training, certification, and ongoing calibration. Our evaluators aren't task workers; they're skilled professionals who master complex frameworks and apply them consistently across thousands of judgments.

OUR APPROACH
Training Before Scale
Every X-Pert completes structured onboarding, certification testing, and calibration sessions before touching live data.
Pilot Before Commitment
We start every engagement with a pilot phase. You don't pay for headcount promises, you pay for proven quality.
Ongoing Feedback
Evaluators receive regular quality reviews, disagreement analysis, and coaching to stay aligned with evolving guidelines.
Transparency About Trade-Offs
If your guidelines are unclear, we'll tell you. If your expectations conflict, we'll surface the tension. We optimize for sustainable, defensible quality not just client satisfaction in the short term.

Leadership & Oversight
Rater-X is led by a team committed to quality, accountability, and transparency in AI evaluation.

David Bassey
David founded Rater-X after years of working with AI teams frustrated by the quality gap between what they needed and what existing evaluation platforms delivered. He saw how crowd-sourced labeling optimized for cost and speed left AI teams with inconsistent data, untrained evaluators, and no way to validate quality before scaling.
Rater-X was built on a simple premise: train evaluators to the same standard you'd train an AI model. Invest in skill development. Validate quality through pilots. Scale only when you've proven the team understands your use case.
“AI systems are sophisticated enough to generate human-like text and make high-stakes decisions. The humans evaluating them should be trained with the same rigor. That's what we're building at Rater-X.”
